Diphda is the brightest star in the Cetus constellation, although only just outshining the number two spot star, Menkar. Diphda is easy to spot being in a relatively dark portion of the celestial sky. Diphida has consumed the hydrogen in its core, having left the main sequence and entered the giant phase of its life.
