Sitting is calm and peaceful.
It rests free standing, as each bird does. The base here is thin, the challenge and invitation was not to use solid planes, but custom L-brackets.
It was a success, the height and cantilever of the structure, essentially the point-load distance outside the center of the stalk, had to be kept to a minimum due to a drastically decreased deflection load. It is a little springy.
