Schedar, Alpha Cassiopeiae, is a K-type orange giant located 228 light years away in the Cassiopeia constellation.
It’s a single star that shines at 4500K temperature and holds a declination at N 56°. It’s a single star with an apparent magnitude of 2.25 in the night sky. Schedar is a very slowly spinning star, taking approximately 102 days to make one complete revolution on its axis. Schedar is number 49 on the list of the brightest 58 Navigational Stars.
Schedar also comes in a medium version and a small version of the same mosaic star.
