Sirius, Alpha Canis Majoris, is an A-type blue-white main sequence star located 9 light years away in the Canis Major constellation.
It shines at 9500K temperature and holds a declination at S 17°. Sirius is a single star with an apparent magnitude of −1.47; it happens to be the brightest star in the night sky, and can even be observed in daylight with the naked eye under the right conditions. Siris is number 1 on the list of the brightest 58 Navigational Stars.
Sirius also comes in a large version and a medium version of the same mosaic star.
