Vega, Alpha Lyrae, is an A-type main sequence star located 25 light years away in the Lyra constellation.
It shines at 9500K temperature and holds a declination at N 39°. It has an apparent magnitude of 0.03 in the night sky. Vega is one of the most extensively stars studied by astronomers and was the first star other than the Sun to have its image and spectrum photographed. Vega is number 5 on the list of the brightest 58 Navigational Stars.
