Kaus Australis
Kaus Australis is a binary star system in the southern constellation of Sagittarius. Kay’s Australis is a rapidly spinning star. This rapid rotation give the star an oblate shape, with its equatorial circumference being 34% larger than its polar circumference. At its equator, it is rotating at 95% of its critical breakup velocity. This is the highest rate ever measured for a star in the Milky Way.
