Bellatrix
Bellatrix is an incredibly hot blue giant positioned super close to the red supergiant Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis) in the night sky. Indeed they share the same constellation of Orion. Bellatrix is a relatively young star at only 25 million years old, and should exhaust the hydrogen in its core in about seven million years. After that Bellatrix will expand and cool, possibly ending its life as a supernova.
Name: Bellatrix
Designation: Gamma Orionis
Constellation: Orion
Hemisphere: Northern
Spectral Class: B-type blue giant
Temperature: 22,000K
Distance: 250 LY
Apparent Magnitude: 1.64
